BaZi FAQ

BaZi FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about the Four Pillars of Destiny.

What is the difference between BaZi and a natal chart?

A natal chart comes from Western astrology and maps planetary positions at birth. BaZi comes from Chinese metaphysics and uses the Four Pillars, Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, and the Five Elements to analyze your energetic structure.

Do I need the exact birth hour to calculate BaZi?

The exact birth hour is strongly recommended because it completes the hour pillar and improves the interpretation. Even without it, you can still generate part of the chart, but the reading will be less complete.

What information does the BaZi calculator show?

The BaZi calculator shows the Four Pillars of Destiny based on your birth year, month, day and hour. From there, you can begin reading patterns, timing and structural tendencies in the chart.

Is BaZi only about destiny?

No. Although it is often translated as the Four Pillars of Destiny, BaZi is more useful as a framework for understanding tendencies, timing, strengths, and choices. It can support better decisions rather than rigid predictions.
